National Events

50th Anniversary Tour and National AGM

The postponed 50th Anniversary Event, which was planned for March 2022, will now be run in April 2023 and will be based in Masterton for 4 days from Friday 21st April, departing on Tuesday 25th April (Anzac Day). Tour routes will be made available from the Northern, Central and Southern regions so that members can partake in all or part of this amazing event, literally a once in a lifetime opportunity. Northern Region

  • First Monday of the month - Noggin & natter - Good Home Pub - Normanby Road, Mt Eden, Auckland

  • Sunday 22nd January - Annual Picnic at Brookby

  • Sunday 12th February - Ellerslie Concours - Auckland

  • Sunday 5th March - Lloyd Elsmore Park, Howick

  • Friday 14th April - Start of the Northern Tour to 50th Celebrations - Taipa Beach, Northland - Tour includes...

    • Fri 14 April - Assemble at the Taipa Beach Resort at Taipa in the evening for drinks and a casual dinner.

    • Sat 15 April - Round trip to Cape Reinga - 220km - photo op at the Cape as the northern starting point - return to Taipa for a casual dinner and overnight at the Taipa Beach Resort.

    • Sun 16 April - slow day touring round the far north - Taipa-Kerikeri-Okaihau-Mangamuka-Kohukohu-Rawene-Omapere - 240km - morning tea with Adrian Garrett at the Carriage House in Kerikeri.  Dinner and overnight at The Heads in Omapere.

    • Mon 17 April - Run down to Orewa - Tane Mahuta-Dargaville-Matakohe (Kauri Museum)-Wellsford-Warkworth-Orewa.  Overnight at The Northridge Lodge at Wainui - 230km.  

    • Auckland Tour Dinner - BBQ at the lodge

    • Tues 18 April - Whizz through Auckland after the morning rushhour (pick up Aucklanders at BP Drury on the way) and on to The Trinity Wharf in Tauranga for a group dinner and overnight - 240km.

    • Wed 19 April - Off to meet up with the Central teams from East Cape and Cape Egmont at lunch in Taupo and then on to Ohakune - 280km.  Group dinner and overnight at the Powderhorn.

  • Monday 17th April - You can join the Northern Region's participants in the 50th Anniversary Tour for a BBQ at Northridge County Lodge Silverdale.  If you wish to stay over Monday night at the Lodge, the room only rate is $168.00incl GST per room per night for a King Studio Room. Otherwise, register for the tour and you can celebrate with other members travelling down the North Island to Masterton!

Central Region

  • Sunday 12th February - British and European Car Day - Trentham Park Upper Hutt. Bring your PMC and a picnic lunch - there is always plenty for the car enthusiast to see and admire!
  • Sunday 19th March - A private collection visit - come visit Brian Rankin's car and memorabilia collection!  He has some very special cars and other items of interest, including a very rare Doble steam car, pristine 1930's Bentley and many other items. Lunch location prior to be confirmed, and then to Brian's Palmerston North sheds early afternoon!  To register, please e-mail Craig Pinny cpinny@mmnz.co.nz
  • Sunday 18th June - Mid-winter Solstice Dinner - we are heading to the Hawkes Bay for our traditional Central Region mid-winter solstice dinner.  Accommodation is being arranged at the historic County Hotel (middle of the art-deco part of Napier) with pre-dinner dinks in the Churchill Bar and our meal at the Wine Street Restaurant!  Sunday will be a visit to Wendy Bryce's restored historic homestead.  Final booking details will be posted shortly.

Southern Region

Sunday 29th January - Mount Peel Homestead run. Details will be provided, meet for morning coffee and a run to Mount Peel at Peel Forest. Picnic lunch and bush walks, Always a good day out, Contact Martin Vincent or Jeremy Stace for details.
Sunday 19th February - We are meeting at 12:30pm for a lunch at the Beaumont Hotel (1897 Beaumont Highway, SH8), see the new bridge under construction and a visit to a historic site to follow.  Numbers please to Katy Parish 027 353 3597

50th Anniversary Tour and National AGM – Southern Run
Southern Run. Objective, to provide a tour which will allow all Southern members who are able to join for at least some of the event and encourage a good representation at the National AGM.
  • Sunday 16 April, Pre tour dinner, Invercargill
  • Monday 17 April, Formal tour commencement midday at Stirling Point SH1 at Bluff, Tour to Dunedin via Catlins
  • Monday 17 April, Gathering of the clans in Dunedin
  • Tuesday 18 April, Tour Dunedin to Geraldine, overnight Geraldine
  • Wednesday 19 April, Tour Geraldine to Christchurch, Dinner in Christchurch
  • Thursday 20 April, Tour Christchurch to Picton, Overnight Picton. Nete  change of location

Early ferry Friday morning hence the preference for Picton. At this stage only Bluebridge have a morning ferry scheduled so anyone considering joining us should make ferry bookings directly ASAP to secure space ahead of the ANZAC long weekend.
